Resilient Bar is an acoustic metal profile designed to improve the sound insulation performance of wall and ceiling systems by decoupling the plasterboard lining from the supporting structure. This separation helps reduce the direct transmission of sound through the construction, making it a practical component in acoustic drylining systems.

For ceiling applications, resilient bars are typically fixed at right angles to the joists at maximum 450mm centres, reducing to 400mm centres when using 2400mm plasterboard. The profile creates an approximately 16mm drop, or 17mm including the metal thickness, from the supporting structure.
