How to Use 72mm Radius Track for Curved Wall Construction
The 72mm radius track is specifically designed to create smooth, curved wall and ceiling frameworks within metal stud partition systems. It works alongside 70mm C studs to form strong, accurate curved structures for both commercial and residential applications.

Step 1: Plan Your Curved Wall Layout
Start by marking out the desired curve on the floor using a chalk line, string line, or template. This ensures your curved partition wall follows a consistent radius throughout the installation.

Step 2: Position and Fix the Radius Track
Lay the 72mm radius track along your marked curve. The flexible design allows the track to follow curved layouts with ease.

Secure the track to the floor using appropriate fixings (e.g. concrete screws or anchors depending on the substrate).

Repeat the process on the ceiling to mirror the curve and maintain alignment.

Step 3: Install 70mm C Studs
Insert 70mm C studs vertically into the radius track at regular centres (typically 400mm or 600mm depending on specification).

Ensure each stud is plumb and securely fixed.

For tighter curves, you may need closer stud spacing to maintain the shape.

Step 4: Create a Smooth Curved Framework
As the studs are installed, they will follow the curved profile set by the track. This creates a solid framework ready for boarding.

Check alignment regularly to ensure a consistent radius.

Adjust spacing if needed for tighter or more complex curves.

Step 5: Board the Curved Structure
Fix flexible plasterboard or standard plasterboard (depending on radius) to the stud framework.

For tighter curves, use thinner boards or pre-soaked boards to improve flexibility.

Secure with drywall screws at recommended centres.

Step 6: Finish the Surface
Once boarded, apply jointing compound or plaster as required to achieve a smooth, professional finish. The result is a clean, modern curved wall or ceiling feature.
